Today, cameras are everywhere. In 1989 China, during the massacre of unarmed civilians by the Chinese government at Tiananmen Square there were only a few. And even fewer of this number were not destroyed by government censors and police who wished to re-write history.

Gathered here are a collection of a few photos taken by Jian Liu during the demonstration. They were published by National Public Radio.
